The southernmost point of Sicily

Portopalo di Capopassero, once a simple fishing village, today likes to draw attention to itself as the southernmost point of Italy and is a great and authentic starting point for a discovery tour of southeastern Sicily. When vacationing there, you are not only very close to the sea, but also close to the area's cultural as well as scenic highlights, among them Monte Iblei and nature reserve Vendicari with its flamingos, turtles and countless migratory birds.

Besides Tafuri Castle, another building at Portopalo catches your eye - the church of Greca di Eleusa. As it is very special and modern in design, you can hardly miss it when taking a walk along the seaside. And just a stone's throw away lies Casa Ferrara, which is just as modern and hard to miss as the neighboring church.

Casa Ferrara is ca. 75 m² in size and located on the 1st floor of a house only completed in 2022. The bright apartment with modern furnishing is a perfect accommodation for four persons. It includes two bedrooms with a double bed each, a bathroom (shower/WC/bidet) and a living-dining room with kitchen unit (incl. gas stove, oven) and access of a furnished sea view balcony.  

The whole apartment is air-conditioned and of energy-efficient design. Further amenities at Casa Ferrara: iron, ironing board, TV, internet access, washing machine (on one of the two balconies).

For your stay in this region of Sicily you are very well advised to have a car at your disposal, be it for shopping tours or excursions. Parking is available along the road or in a parking bay across from the building.

Beach holidays in the south of Sicily

The south of the island is known for its beautiful beaches, which stretch out, partly as dune landscapes, along the Mediterranean Sea and, with a touch of the Caribbean, along the Ionian Sea. The beach closest to Casa Ferrara is at a walking distance of 1 km. Particularly beautiful beach sections with and without service are found between Isola delle Correnti west of Portopalo and nature reserve Vendicari with the remains of Noto's old tonnara (north of Portopalo).

Of course you don't go short of other delights at Portopalo di Capopassero. Restaurants and local cuisine are sure to be found and available all year round. A choice of good ristoranti is found in traffic-calmed Via Vittorio Emanuele.

There are two smaller supermarkets in the village, for example Conad in Via Roma.
