Villa Mar dei Coralli - Holiday home at Fontane Bianche/Syracuse

Not far from Syracuse lies popular seaside resort Fontane Bianche. The coast there is made up of rocky and sandy sections, the waters of the sea are crystal clear. Only about 100 m from a small rocky bay and the turquoise-blue sea lies Villa Mar dei Coralli.

Holiday home with Mediterranean flair

When you step through the entrance gate onto the property of Villa Mar dei Coralli, an idyllic, small garden welcomes you. It is a place where you can unwind, dive into your holiday read or simply admire the Sicilian variety of plants.

Right in front of the house door, there's a veranda with seating accommodations and where the blinds you can draw, in general always provide for a sheltered spot. 

You enter the villa into a room with an open kitchen area to your right and a cozy living area with several small sofas and a fireplace to your left. From the living area, a spiral staircase runs up to the large roof terrace.

The holiday home's two bedrooms sleep 2 persons each. If required, a children's bed can be set up in one of the bedrooms.

On Villa dei Coralli's large roof terrace with a little bit of sea view, you can worship the Sicilian sun. It is a fantastic spot to watch the sun rise over the Ionian Sea in the early morning and the perfect spot for relaxing in the late hours of the day.

Furnishing of the holiday home also includes: washing machine in the bathroom; air conditioning (extra charge for use) in the bedrooms; fan; gas stove, small electric oven, fridge-freezer and Italian moka pot in the kitchen area; grill and outdoor shower in the outdoor area. 

Parking is available on the fenced property.

Surroundings & tips for excursions

The nearest spot where you can go for a swim in the sea is only ca. 100 m from Villa dei Coralli; the nearest sandy beach is the lido of Fontane Bianche (ca. 4 km). Restaurants and grocery stores are also found at Fontane Bianche; they are about 2 km from the holiday home.

The cultural highlights not far from Villa dei Coralli are, without doubt, Ortigia (the Old Town of Syracuse) and Noto. The two impressive Baroque towns have meanwhile become real tourist draws; nevertheless, you should still put them on your Sicily-to-do list. The evening is a good time to visit, if you want to enjoy the culinary offer, which is extraordinarily good both at Ortigia and at Noto.

If you prefer walks along more solitary trails, Oasi di Vendicari is the place to go. The nature reserve ca. 25 km south of Fontane Bianche is a great place for hiking, bird watching, a swim in the sea or simply admiring Sicily's lush nature. Be sure to take along enough to drink and a sunhat.
