At Sampieri you might recognize settings from the Montalbano series, for example the beautiful seaside promenade. The ruins of the old brickworks 'featured' as the tuna fishery "La Mannara".
Sampieri is a convenient starting point for a tour of the impressive, UNESCO World Heritage listed Baroque towns in the surrounding area. Scicli, Modica and Ragusa, for example, count among them and it takes you only about half an hour by car to get there.
